Message: Need to post up what I saw at the grand happening. My head is pounding tonite so I'll put it off for a better time. It was a good time as always. Played some horrible D&D with all the things I hate but either I'm mellowing or ... when I went to their website to complain, I read their info and they designed the scenario per their objectives. So, it wasn't randomly bad, it was bad by design. Okay, just a taste, you are a kobald, goblin, bugbear (and not the owl headed good kind) or human with bumps trying to recover your memory as an island is being destroyed. The island was a series of puzzles and .... perhaps one of the most equally sad and funny moment in gaming history ... you discovered a power point presentation that the bugbears were giving to each other .... (thus violating Conrad's gaming rule #2 Don't do anything in a game you can do in real life). Yup, no sword swinging heroic figure, no powerful wizard spouting plumes of flame from his ancient hands, not lichs to smote, no dragons to loot, no heralded tales of adventure ... kobalds and power point. Need I say more. But, it was GenCon, so even that was amusing. I'll post more when I get a few and as the memories come to me. Yours, Conrad Message Replies: |
