UPP (User-Friendly) characteristic code

I think the title says it all. I can't count the number of times classic sci-fi from the fifties emphasized a UPP (user-friendly) description of heroes. Wait, I can count that -- zero.

I play it for the older brother's cries of "Freedom" from the tyrany of dice. Yet his latest guy has three character stats above ten. Or should I say "A" hexadecimal. So far ahead of it's time.
