Message:Card Flip Blatant Threats on Planet M1 of Altair Seven
Enter Jameson Winston Walker (not a Soak Off) pretending to be an Archeologist, the author of the book Chariot of Ra, contending that Ancient Egyptian Astronauts reaches Altair Seven before the Imperium; he needs your help. "I need access to this base." Attempt +Skill Forgery. If anyone is successful he nods, as if this event has been foretold by divine providence. He would like you to join him on a quest. "You will be my ghostwriter and create the literary hype for my (your) theory of how the Egyptian Astronauts reach Altair Seven before the Imperium." Manufacture all the proper credentials and social media ties in say the next twenty minutes. Make it thirty since we need to be convincing in this backwater dustbowl of a hillbilly system."
No matter the background or desire of this NPC, the main goal is evil. Sometimes serious like Saboteur. Sometimes just a fever dream of pointless intrigue. Regardless, he's a Villain with pretense, a Wolf Sheep's Clothing. You might rationalize in feigned ignorance. Yet don't interfere; he's dangerous enough to force Instant Death Saves if his cover story is blown. We could have ourselves a hostile takeover. And this Walker has a particular set of skills that should give his enemies pause.
Free Incentive
Just for meeting this celebrated and scandalous rogue, you may all attempt to gain the required skill. His devious magnificence rubs off. At least one of the players must be successful or any deal is null and void. The recipient of the skill bump does seem compelled to aid the fell one's goals. Only if you agree to tag along, do you gain the skill.
Sidequest
Reach Flag (Test Jig) in Research. $5000 upon completion. Even in success, the man is never a friend; the card's negative future effects continue as the NPC denies any relationship with party of characters. What's done is done.
Garrison Mix
PsyOps (21) Clubs & Reflective x4
Psionic (16) Skin Melt -or- Weapon Scald -or- Barrel Bend x2

Unlikely odds you will ever meet this version of Walker, a very low, one in fifty-four. Still I just wanted to tease the kind of sub-quests I've been creating, based on classic sci-fi and favorite TV. Have yet to add a Monty Python interlude but plenty of opportunities for Hitchhiker's.
Much of play is context dependent flip card. Should take months and months to create. Such bliss.
Yours,
IronRed
